Kent Meadows of NGV Solutions addressing MNGA Convention
Orange Beach, AL - The Mississippi Natural Gas Association (MNGA) held its 2012 annual convention last week at the Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach, AL. The primary focus of this year's convention was Natural Gas Vehicles and their impact on Gas Utilities as well as the rest of the natural gas industry.
Kent Meadows of NGV Solutions (Flowood, MS) was the featured speaker offering two sessions on the fundamentals of natural gas vehicles and fueling. He also presented a third session in which explained the potential impact NGV's could have on gas utilities.
At a time when most gas utilities are seeing their markets stagnate at best or shirking at worst, Meadows made a compelling case for NGV's as a means of significantly increasing gas demand while saving money for the community.
For Example:
- A personal car is eqaul to 1.2 houses
- A School Bus is equal to 6 houses
- A Work Truck (pickup or van) is equal to 6.5 houses
- A delivery truck is equal to 9.3 houses
- A Cement Truck is equal to 18.5 houses
- A Trash Truck is equal to 20 houses
Many of the gas utilities expressed interest in converting their own fleets and then agressively promoting the benefits of natural gas as a vehicle fuel to the fleets in their community.
MNGA announced that they will form a new committee devoted to promotion of Natural Gas Vehicles and associated infrastructure.
